Protests and Rabid Cops in NYC

From real-time internet reports, things seem to be getting out of hand in areas of New York City. Protestors are getting arrested left and right at the various demonstrations. What's really interesting is how most of the mainstream media seems to be ignoring it! Instead they focus on the convention and interview New Yorkers that are glad the republicans in town. Some of the Republican delegates going into Madison Square Garden (which looks like Fort Knox with all the tall concrete slabs and police trucks around it) were heard saying that they were "not aware of any protests" to the media. Amazing.

Apparently about 900 people have been arrested so far. The NYC Indy Media Center is doing a great job of posting live news updates, pictures and videos.
